On 14 June, “UOB Heartbeat” representatives from UOB Bank came to coach our children about financial literacy, creating additional careers, and opening markets to sell products to other children in the community. A “Money Playroom” approach, in which children practiced opening a small local business (such as a grilled meatball shop, an iced tea shop, a cheese-shaken french-fries shop, a mini sandwich shop, or herbal juice shop), gave them hands-on experience, from purchasing raw materials, producing products and selling them, including calculating costs, profits and savings. They not only gained practical knowledge but voted it a really fun experience. Thank you to the UOB volunteers. This was their second visit to teach the children about handling money responsibly.
