On July 21, international participants from the APRU SDG Education for Global Citizenship Program, 40 students representing 16 universities and 12 countries, visited the Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF) from Chulalongkorn University. During their visit, Khru Prateep gave an overview of the foundation’s work and discussed the current housing issues faced by the community. Dr. Tatsuya Hata, Executive Advisor of the DPF and former lecturer at Kinki University, also gave a special presentation on “The Role of Civil Society in Thailand (and Beyond) in Promoting a Participatory Policy Process.” Before the presentations, students were taken on a walking tour of the surrounding communities to observe daily life and the living conditions in the Khlong Toei slum. They also visited the DPF kindergarten. We would like to thank the participants for their interest in our work and activities. (21 July 2025)
