In the early morning hours of February 12, residents of Pattana Mai Community were shaken from their sleep by the always feared noises of a serious fire flaring up among their densely packed homes. Seven houses would be completely consumed by the flames and six others damaged. Come daylight, Khru Prateep raced to the scene to assess the situation and provide immediate assistance. For initial relief, the DPF provided financial support of 2,000 baht per household to ease their immediate hardship, while all impacted residents are being housed in the community center. One volunteer firefighter was also injured while battling the blaze and received medical aid. The DPF will continue providing assistance to ensure that everyone can return to their normal lives as soon as possible.
