Kindies Move Up in the World

On March 4 and 5, the Duang Prateep Kindergarten organized a two-day farewell camp for the departing 60 students of Kindergarten Level 3. This was their last opportunity to join together in fun activities before they disperse to various primary schools in the next academic year. On the first day, the Kindergarten’s principal spoke to them about leaving kindergarten life, and how to prepare themselves for the move to a higher-level school. They then dived into a fun day of art, outdoor games, weaving beads, English language games, and food preparation (sandwiches), before the day drew to a close around an evening campfire. The children entertained each other in the evening with fun performances and a “Bai Sri” ceremony (a sacred Thai ritual designed to welcome spirits, bestow blessings, prosperity and harmony). On the second day, the kids enjoyed a visit to the Bangkok Children’s Discovery Museum near Chatuchak Park. We then bade them farewell and good luck, with happy memories of their time with us at the DPF Kindergarten.
