Scholarships for New Academic Year
On May 12, the DPF organized its annual scholarship presentation ceremony for poor children. Mr. Bamrung Samniangam (Director of Klong Toey District Office) honored proceedings by acting as ceremony chairperson. The event opened with a contemporary dance performance and an exhibition of Thai Boxing, followed by a video highlighting the various activities of the Duang Prateep Foundation. DPF Chairperson, Dr. Sant Hathirat, delivered the welcome speech to Mr. Samniangam and all the honored guests. Khru Prateep then informed the gathering of the results of our Educational Sponsorship Program in the last academic year. Scholarships were presented to a representative group of 150 students (the DPF currently provides scholarships to 1,200 students from Primary school to Tertiary level). In addition, 104 outstanding students received awards in various categories, such as good academic grades (80 students); showing gratitude to parents/guardians (10 students) and 14 who graduated from universities. A scholarship student who succeeded in his studies shared his experience about the importance of these scholarships and expressed his appreciation to all sponsors. An informal get-together between the children and their sponsors was organized at the end of proceedings. Thank you to all supporters, school representatives, local organizations and community leaders who attended.
