The Community Kindergartens Project was born in 1981 when parents who had to struggle to earn a living had no-one to look after their young children during the day.Khru Prateep sought a solution to this problem by initiating children's centers in the communities as a second “home” to help care for the kids with love and warmth
Objectives:
1. To provide early-years children in the community with supervised care and to improve their health
2. To create a network for early childhood education centers in the community.
3. To provide understanding of educational development while taking care of young children for teachers’ assistants, volunteers, guardians and children’s center committees
On operation
The DPF provides support, such as:
1. Rice, dry food, milk and budget expenses according to need.
2. Sponsorships for the poorest children
On Development
1. Develop the potential of teachers and the teacher’s assistants by providing and exchange forum as appropriate organization training in teaching the Montessori System according to the readiness and necessity of each center.
2. Develop the potential of young children by allowing them to practice English conversation with foreigner volunteers at Duang Prateep Kindergarten.
3. Parents and guardians: provide training, exchange the ideas on taking care of children each year
